Description

The primary responsibilities of ILPS security personnel will be to detect, apprehend, and process individuals engaged in theft and other fraudulent activities. This will be done through CCTV surveillance and covert floorwalking. Our security staff will complete cases by writing reports to Crown Counsel, working with jurisdictional police agencies, and when needed, testifying in court. Good observational skills, assertiveness, and the ability to deal with confrontational situations are necessary.

Hours of Work: We offer flexible schedules and hours from 16-40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the general security of the client's business by conducting building security checks and foot patrols of the premises.
• Notify store managers of any problems with store or product security.
• Search for suspects engaged in theft and other fraudulent activities.
• Apprehend and process anyone leaving the premises with stolen merchandise, or anyone caught engaging in fraudulent activities.
• Submit written reports to Crown Counsel.

Qualifications

• A valid BC Security Licence
• Proven leadership skills
• Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
• Strong administration and organizational skills
• Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm, professional manner
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
